About
MIOOE

We combine architecture, technology, and business strategy to design commercial spaces that work harder.

MIOOE Studio is a Toronto-based design consultancy built on a simple idea: every spatial decision is a business decision. We work with business owners, developers, and operators who need practical, intelligent design — not just aesthetics.

Our background spans architecture, architectural technology, and real construction knowledge. We understand budgets, timelines, permit processes, and what it actually takes to open a space on time and on budget.

Scope Concept Design & Documentation

A contemporary hospitality project inspired by the traditional chiringuito beach restaurants of Barcelona, adapted to the mountainous topography of San Cristóbal.

The approximately 1,200–1,500 m² development was organized through a terraced architectural strategy that responds to the natural ravine-like condition of the site, maximizing visual connections, circulation, and outdoor dining experiences.

The project is centered around a lightweight wooden pavilion of approximately 180–250 m² containing the primary service functions — kitchen, bar, administration, restrooms, storage, and operational areas. Multiple open-air dining platforms were integrated into the landscape using elevated decks, tensile fabric canopies, and tropical landscaping.

The design emphasizes natural materials, passive ventilation, and a seamless integration between architecture and landscape — creating a contemporary tropical dining environment within the temperate mountain climate of San Cristóbal.

Studio MIOOE Studio

A compact contemporary residence designed around light, ventilation, and spatial continuity — exploring how a small urban home can feel open, calm, and deeply connected to nature.

The house is organized across two levels with a total built area of 193 m² (2,077 ft²). The ground floor contains the private program — two bedrooms, bathrooms, storage, and a central open-air courtyard that acts as the environmental heart of the project.

A central courtyard introduces natural daylight and cross ventilation deep into the interior. Large glazed openings establish visual continuity between interior and exterior, creating a strong relationship between architecture, landscape, and daily living.

The architectural language is intentionally minimal — defined by clean geometries, white stucco walls, black metal frames, natural wood accents, and soft landscaping. The rooftop terrace extends the living space via an exterior spiral staircase.

A contemporary single-family residence developed through a clear architectural language — where structural honesty, material warmth, and spatial efficiency define the domestic experience.

The design is organized across two levels, with the ground floor dedicated to social and service spaces — living, dining, kitchen, and circulation — and the upper floor containing the private program of bedrooms and bathrooms. The section reveals a coherent spatial sequence that prioritizes ceiling height at key gathering areas while maintaining efficient structural spans throughout.

The floor plans follow a rational grid, optimizing the relationship between enclosed and open areas. Large glazed openings on the primary facade establish visual continuity between interior and exterior, while the lateral walls maintain privacy and thermal performance. The material palette emphasizes exposed concrete, natural stone, and warm wood tones — anchoring the architecture to its site and climate.

An urban landscaping project developed from concept through full technical documentation — exploring the integration of built form, vegetation, topography, and public space into a cohesive outdoor environment.

The design process traces a clear evolution from spatial concept to construction-ready drawings. The project resolves the relationship between hardscape and softscape elements, pedestrian circulation, drainage strategy, and structural planting logic — producing a layered landscape that is both functional and experiential.

The elevation compositions demonstrate the landscape language of the project: a controlled interplay of ground plane, vertical elements, and canopy that responds to orientation, scale, and context. The 3D visualizations communicate the atmospheric qualities of the outdoor spaces — warm, grounded, and rooted in material and ecological honesty.

Studio MIOOE Studio

A compact beauty retail studio designed for a shopping mall environment — where transparency, elegance, and brand identity are embedded directly into the architectural language.

The interior integrates reception, professional makeup stations, product display, storage, and customer circulation within a reduced commercial footprint. A central cashier island anchors the plan, flanked by a linear makeup station sequence along the glazed storefront facade and an exhibition wall organizing storage and product display. The curved storefront geometry enhances visibility from multiple circulation angles within the mall corridor, transforming the makeup process into a live brand experience.

The design language operates through contrast: black architectural frames and large glazed panels create structural definition, while pink accents, light wood flooring, and integrated lighting introduce warmth and feminine identity. Reflective surfaces, vertical mirrors, suspended fixtures, and illuminated shelving amplify the perceived depth of the space. The double-height facade composition reinforces verticality, projecting elegance and commercial presence from the exterior.

Studio MIOOE Studio

A conceptual museum design exploring the intersection of art, light, and architectural sequence — where the building itself becomes part of the curatorial experience.

The design is organized around a central atrium that acts as the spatial anchor of the institution — drawing natural light deep into the plan and creating a moment of pause and orientation between gallery circuits. Gallery volumes branch from this core, each calibrated in scale and luminosity to accommodate diverse exhibition formats, from intimate collections to large-scale installations.

The architectural language is restrained and monumental: raw concrete surfaces, controlled apertures, and deliberate circulation sequences ensure that the art remains the protagonist while the architecture provides a coherent, dignified backdrop. The spatial experience is choreographed from arrival to exit — every threshold, transition, and view framed to heighten emotional and intellectual engagement with the works on display.
